Single center experience of endovascular abdominal aortic aneurysms repair

چکیده
Methods Since May 2010 51 patients with a median age of 69 years were included. Among them there were 32 (89%) men and 4 (11%) women. 28 (78%) patients had infrarenal localization of abdominal aortic aneurysms, 8 (22%) patients had juxtarenal localization of AAA. In 34 patients (94%) abdominal aortic aneurysms were etiologicaly atherosclerotic and in 2 patients (6%) it was Marfan syndrome to be the definite reason for aneurysmatic disease. The maximum dimensions of the abdominal aorta averaged 59 ± 18mm. All patients had challenging anatomy: short and severely angulated and/or conic proximal aortic neck, unsuitable distal ”landing zone”, thrombus, calcification and complicated morphology, complex aneurysms and dissections of iliac and femoral arteries.

An Aortoenteric Fistula Arising after Endovascular Management of a Mycotic Abdominal Aortic Aneurysm Complicated with a Psoas Abscess
Mycotic aortic aneurysms account for 1–3% of all aortic aneurysms. The management of this disease is controversial. Since open surgical repair is associated with high morbidity and mortality rates, endovascular aneurysm repair is an alternative treatment method with promising early and midterm outcomes, although its long-term durability is unknown.Secondary aortoenteric fistulas may occur iatro...
متن کاملRepair of ruptured abdominal aortic aneurysms with bifurcated endografts: a single-center study
OBJECTIVE The aim of this study was to describe our early experience in the treatment of ruptured abdominal aortic aneurysms with bifurcated endografts. We report on our initial twelve-month experience using this approach. METHODS Clinical data on patients with ruptured abdominal aortic aneurysms treated at a single tertiary center in Brazil were prospectively recorded. The eligibility for en...
متن کاملFrequency of Complications Following Endovascular Repair of Abdominal Aortic Aneurysm in Tehran Sina Hospital, 2011-2019
Background and purpose: Abdominal aortic aneurysms (AAA) is a localized enlargement of infrarenal abdominal aorta. Endovascular aneurysm repair (EVAR) is a surgical method introduced for AAA repair. This study, for the first time in Iran, investigated the complications and mortality rate associated with EVAR. Materials and methods: In this cross-sectional study, medical records were reviewed...
متن کاملEarly results of fenestrated endovascular repair of juxtarenal aortic aneurysms in the United Kingdom.
BACKGROUND Fenestrated endovascular repair of abdominal aortic aneurysms has been proposed as an alternative to open surgery for juxtarenal and pararenal abdominal aortic aneurysms. At present, the evidence base for this procedure is predominantly limited to single-center or single-operator series. The aim of this study was to present nationwide early results of fenestrated endovascular repair ...

HYPOTHESIS Percutaneous endovascular repair of ruptured abdominal aortic aneurysms (RAAAs) has better outcomes than traditional open surgical repair. DESIGN Single-center retrospective review. SETTING University hospital tertiary referral center. PATIENTS Thirty-seven RAAAs treated using endovascular repair (n = 15) or open surgery (n = 22). INTERVENTIONS From January 1, 2000, through D...
متن کاملeditOrials towards endovascular treatment of the entire aorta
endovascular devices and techniques will evolve to expand applicability and provide therapy for most aortic diseases, including a growing number of diseases of the arch and the ascending aorta [4]. Complex aortic aneurysms that involve major aortic branch origins include those juxtaposed or involving the renal arteries (juxtarenal, perirenal), the visceral arteries (thoraco-abdominal) and the g...
